Somber Summer is out now
I kind of forgot to hype this album, sorry. Somber Summer is out now everywhere including Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify, and everywhere else. It's kind of a sequel to Metastasis which came out back in February. It follows similar themes but is a little more pessimistic and doomer than that album.
How much does it cost?
On streaming services it's the same deal as always. You stream and I get a fraction of a fraction of a cent per play. I hope you enjoy the songs regardless though. But on Bandcamp It's a pay-what-you-want model. You can add it to your Bandcamp library and download loses WAV or FLAC files of the music for any price you want including $0.
There's also a cassette release. As of this writing (May 13th, 2022) there are 19 copies of the cassette available. Those are also free/name-your-price. You only have to pay shipping which is flat rate Priority Mail ($10) and is delivered within 2 to 3 days plus you'll get a tracking number so you know where it's at at all times. So if you're looking to add to your cassette collection this would be an excellent complement to Metastasis from earlier this year.
Upcoming releases & exclusive releases
I'm working on mixing and master 3 more albums to be released this year (2022). One in July and one more in late August/early September. The third release will be for Darph VIP community members (just click the VIP membership link on Bandcamp to join) and you'll get a notification when it drops (plus immediate access to the entire back catalog of Darph releases and future releases all for free). If you've bought or even listened to even one artist on Bandcamp then you need the Bandcamp mobile app so you can get updates when new releases come out and direct, private messages about VIP exclusive content that drops when it drops. I've decided to drop Patreon and focus solely on Bandcamp because Patreon is great if you're a writer or a video essayist but it just doesn't really have the built in tools I need to maintain an exclusive artist-fan relationship without jumping through lots of hoops and making everything more work for everyone. I'll never forget having to build my own music player (you know, like a clone of what Bandcamp has by default) and give my Patrons exclusive tokens to access it on my official website. With Bandcamp subscriptions handling bonus content for supporters and super-fans is a breeze so please don't sign up for The Darph's Patreon and use Bandcamp's subscription service instead.
That's all for now. Hope you like the new release.
